Our Ethos
In the KidsLab we focus on and celebrating magical moments in early years, providing passion, and the invitations to learning, which will promote Curiosity, Imagination, and Awe & Wonder for children. We believe that early years are vitally important in building the foundation for further love to learning, development of intelligence, problem-solving and cognitive skills as well as personal, social and emotional development.
In our nursery we believe in community, friendship and positive relationship. KidsLab is not only a place for children to spend their day but this is homely, warm environment where everyone feels love, respect and support and has all opportunities to shine bright.
ENVIRONMENT
In our nursery we want everyone to feel like at home. Therefore, you won’t find here bright coloured walls and hundreds of shiny plastic toys. Instead, you’ll see wooden materials, natural resources, neutral backgrounds, pictures on the walls and a lot of natural green plants. We even have an aquarium pets and during the year invite other pet animals to meet our children. Atmosphere of cosiness is supported by natural loose parts (cones, pebbles, sticks etc.) as well as mindfully chosen open-ended resources which also bring different elements, textures, feels and smells into the environment. To avoid overstimulation our capacity is kept to 12 children maximum in each room. This allows us to provide exceptional attention and pastoral care to each individual child.
Our rooms layout and daily planning support three characteristics of effective teaching and learning. These are:

Playing and exploring – where children investigate and experience things, and ‘have a go’.

Active learning – where children concentrate and keep on trying, even when they encounter difficulties, and enjoy their achievements.

Creating and thinking critically – where children have and develop their own ideas, and can make links between them, and develop strategies for doing things.
LEARNING APPROACH
In KidsLab we follow EYFS guidelines and implement our educational programmes through the The Curiosity Approach®. This a modern pedagogical methodology that enables educators to bring joy and happiness to Early Childhood as children follow their own ideas and Schematic learning styles. In our preschool (Explorers) classroom we have a great emphasis on the school-readiness programme. Our curriculum through the whole nursery years period is design to promote gradual development in all skills that are required to start school smoothly and happily. All children in KidsLab have a great range of different activities, trips and experiences to fulfil their cultural capital. Our curriculum description document is available on request.
